Our university has, in line with the government subsidy policy, only a single rating system:

• All government approved journals are "rated" equally.
• Non-rated journals receive a very low rating (no subsidy)

Government approved journals are:

• All journals on the ISI list
• All journals on the IBSS index

An additional shortlist of selected local journals, the two relevant ones for our discipline being the South African Computer Journal (SACJ) and SA Journal of Information Management (SAJIM)
